The week of Christmas the elementary celebrated "Christmas Around the World"!!!! Third grade chose Sweden as their country. We learned about several customs/traditions that people in Sweden have for their Christmas celebration and set out to make them in our classroom. The kids did a wonderful job on their projects.
The students then used their passport to travel from country to country and learned about the traditions and customs of the various countries they visited. They were able to visit the United States, Netherlands, Mexico, Israel, Spain, Italy and Sweden.
The kids loved it and are ready to make it an annual event.

The pictures above are of the Tomten Garland the students made to help teach the other students in our elementary school about Christmas in Sweden.
The students above are showing off the Swedish Christmas Hearts they made to share with fellow students.

The students in the above pictures are showing the Darla Horses they made for our Christmas Around the World.

The students above made Saint Lucia wreaths. They are a part of a very popular tradition in Sweden.
