The month of December is always very busy. We covered a lot of ground in December as well as finding some time for a few fun activities. We made ginger bread house, gifts for parents and a few other fun holiday art projects.

The students are doing a science experiment on these pictures. They are taking apart owl pellets to discover what is inside. They made predictions about what they thought owls eat and then were able to draw conclusions based on what they found. This was so much fun for all of the kids. They then kept track of what they ate for a day and we talked about whether their food came from a plant or an animal. They made some discoveries when they had to figure it out.

The third grade had a chance to kick up their heels at the Halloween dance on Wednesday. A big thank you to Mrs. Wolff and the 5th and 6th grade classes for decorating and cleaning up after the dance while we were able to walk to the nursing home to trick or treat.
I'm happy the weather was nice for the kids to be out without full winter gear as they are some years. Check out the pictures following this post...
Seth, Jakob and Ben

Alexis, Annette and Caylee

Kacey, Lauren and Savanna

Christy, Ashley and Ethan

Third grade will be taking North Dakota State Assessment (NDSA) tests over the next two weeks. A letter will be in your child's mail letting you  know the days we will be testing. I can't stress enough how important it is that your child is well rested and has a good breakfast everyday and especially when we are taking state assessments.
